Calibrating

To ensure the risk matrix is properly calibrated, test runs should be undertaken.

There are two types of checks that should be examined during this testing -

  1. Validating accuracy of heat map results against type of data included in profile;

  2. Comparing bar graph results against the overall risk range.

For an example of '1' - Afghanistan should obviously result in a high or very high risk rating.  A rating of low would be incorrect.

For an example of '2' - You are comparing heat map results of the divisions against the overall risk score.  Therefore 4 divisions of low risk and one of medium risk would not be calibrated correctly if the overall risk score was showing high or very high.

These are simple tests to run.
